Eva Avila Stars In 'ROBIN HOOD, The EnvironMENTAL Family Musical'

Join Eva as she makes makes her acting debut! Playing Maid Marion in Ross Petty’s production of ROBIN HOOD, The EnvironMENTAL Family Musical, Eva joins an all-star Canadian cast which includes Ross Petty himself as Sheriff of Nottingham.

A modern spin on the classic story, ROBIN HOOD, The EnvironMENTAL Family Musical tells a tale of how The Prince of Thieves must win over Maid Marion from the Sheriff of Nottingham (a.k.a the CEO of Nottingham lumber), who plans to clear cut the Sherwood Forest in order to keep his company the leader in its field!

Eva Avila Set To Perform At Winterfest In Surrey, B.C. Next Month

Eva Avila will be one of several performers at the second annual Winterfest celebration in Surrey, B.C. next month. The free, full-day event will take place Saturday, Feb. 7 and feature outdoor skating and curling, a Guitar Hero competition, food and a tobogganing area.

Last year, 100 tonnes of snow was trucked in for the event, which attracted upwards of 10,000 people. This year, 15,000 are expected and the event, part of Spirit of B.C. Week, will also serve as a one-year countdown to the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Winterfest will be in the Central City Plaza area at 13450 102 Ave. beginning at 12 noon and continuing until 10 p.m. Official opening ceremonies will take place at 5:30 p.m. and a fireworks display will cap the evening.

Eva Performs For Fans In Toronto

Join Eva in Toronto today to help raise money for a great cause! She and other artists will be taking part in a busking event supporting War Child Canada, along with the help of Aldo's Spring stores.

It all takes place at Toronto Eaton Centre's Trinity Way (in front of Sears).

Performances are from noon-2:00 pm and from 4:00-9:00 pm. Eva performs at 1:00pm. 100% of the proceeds will help War Child and Spring Shoes rebuild schools in Africa.

Eva Performs For Fans In Toronto

Eva treated some lucky fans to an intimate showcase in Toronto on Tuesday, November 11 sharing songs from her brand new album "Give Me The Music". A crowd of contest winners cheered her on as she performed the chart-climbing title track, as well as soon-to-be favourites like "No More Coming Back" and "Damned" off her sophomore release.

Taking a break between sets, Eva answered audience questions.

Megan Nelson, 19, from Sudbury, Ont., was one lucky fan who won her way into the showcase.

"Ever since she started with Canadian Idol, I've followed her. I went to see her concert in North Bay and it was absolutely amazing. She's such a wonderful person. She's so down to earth and she inspires me," she told CTV.

Christine White, 22, from Hamilton, Ont., likes the new mature sound Eva has emulated on her record.

"It sounds a lot better than the first album that she had out for sure. It seems like it's a little more her own, a little less commercial," said White.

Eva said it's comments like these that validate all the hard work she put into the album. Eva will continue to promote the album before starting rehearsals for an upcoming spring tour.

Eva in the Studio!

Eva Avila is in the studio now, working on the follow up to her 2006 album 'Somewhere Else'. She recently sat down with eTalk to discuss the album, which she describes as more "soulful". You can watch the eTalk clip here.

Eva is working with producer Matt Wallace (left), who has produced acts like Maroon 5 and Chantal Kreviazuk.
